flashing backlight  Reply with quote

I got a problem with my s950.. When i bought it the backlight was working(though it was very dim!), and i opened it up to put the ram back in(after a rough ride here the ram somehow got knocked out  Shocked ) but after i had opened it up and fixed it the backlight started flickering at times, and sometimes its just off. I tried changing the backlight, and it worked out great, the light is really bright and nice, but its only on at times.. I dont move it to make the light go on/off, it just seems random as fuck..
What do you guys reckon is the problem ???

i dont have a pic but its easy to find.  if you follow the wires off of the display it goes to it.  it is screwed in below the backlight. you can see it when you take the top off the sampler.  its on teh bottom right in the front.  its a sqaure-ish board wiht a big round thing on it.  just follow the wires off of the display and you will find it.  good luck.

These may work as a replacement option for the inverter.

I just picked up a S-950 yesterday. it has a bummed out backlight so I'll do the work and let y'all know how and what it takes...

kaz..

OK I have 5VDC into the inverter and 100V AC on the output to the dark EL panel. I'd say I have a DOA back panel.

BTW the display is a 14pin 40x2 display.....
