Physical and Behavioral Circuit Modeling of the SP12 Sampler  Reply with quote

http://ccrma.stanford.edu/~dtyeh/sp12/yeh2007icmcsp12slides.pdf

Quote (page 8, Sound Examples): 'Physical modeling produces accurate results capturing much of the character of the real thing.'

The studies comparisons (sp12 vs matlab?):
http://ccrma.stanford.edu/~dtyeh/sp12/wavs/sound%20compare.htm

Practically identical imo.  Pitty there are no 1-7 channel emulations.  Food for thought though.

One day i'll own a real one, then i can stop fantasising over emulations!  Got to be said this dude was on to something.

The article was written in response to John Nolting page here

(relating to a previous post on these forums)

PEACE

Aiight, EDIT just found another article:

I failed the test!

Even if the sound could be emulated with computers in the future, I would still rock the stand alone SP just for the workflow/interface. I love to work on a physical beat machine, and the SP1200 is fast + fun to me.

^^Thats why I hope someone will program a VST so all the people that are just after the sound won't bid on ebay anymore and there is a chance getting the 1200 for less money.

peace
