you must open up the sp and take out the screws of the front panel (that holds the buttons and the knobs). the keys are hard to pull out. you must disassemble the board from the front panel and gently pull up the button with a knife or a screwdriver. be carefull. (there is a base under the button, don't pull up all he block, only the part of the button that you can see normally  on the front panel). i've broken the start stop button 1 year ago because i've pulled the button without move the board from the front panel, and the whole button block (button and base) came out of his place. i've had to send my sp to technician to repair it!
maybe someone in this forum can tell you how to do it right better than me...
Smile
sorry for my bad english

and i know how to open it up and peep the insides, that was what i did first. but i mean then what?? i dont know why its misstriggering i know its not messed up totally because if you hit in like from the top of the pad it triggers. but whats puzzling to me is why hitting tap tempo triggers pad 6 aswell.

yeah everything seems okay...although ive been looking at it alot over the last few days and i think that pad 6 is slightly raised up higher than the rest of the pads...odd.
