Your disk drive is dead? Or you want one that works with both HD and DD disks?
Take your (or your friends) old MPC2000XL drive (Sony MPF520-2) and switch the jumpers so that it looks like this (pic is upside down according to the schematics under):
Set G1/G2 to F1/F2
Set E1/E2 to E2/D2
Set C1/B1 to B1/A1
Voila! This drive is a bit smaller than the original, so you'll have a small gap in the upper front, but that's how the expensive Forat drive is too.
I bet we can get a lot of drives with jumpers to work, now that we can understand what settings the drive should be set to to work with the SP. |

jumper settings for the TEAC C929 drive.
works fine with dd disks.

Do you know that the price range for this drive is from 280$ - 700$ ?
Get three or four of these drives and trade them for a complete SP 
Seem to be very rare
