what do you mean by placements?

Are you talking about chord progressions, arrangements, bridges, synth textures, etc...?

Are you talking about instrument placement, mic'n and panning for creating room and balanced mixes?

What is a Music Placement?

What is a music placement? A music placement is when your track is used for a commercial purpose. It could be on an album, in a video game, or used for a T.V. commercial or movie soundtrack. What many people don't realize is that the most lucrative area of the music industry is in music publishing. As a producer, if you are able to secure a music publishing contract with a major publishing house like EMI, it could easily be a 7-figure contract. But how do you get a publishing deal? The best way to a lucrative publishing deal contract is to have a few music placements under your belt first. When publishing houses see that you have several commercial releases, they get comfortable that you are a money making commodity.

true. I could have clicked the link if I had paid better attention. Nah, I don't know anything about musical placements, just got a FireStudio so now I can actually put music on a email'able source.
