S950 Format Disk shows 71% free  Reply with quote

Hi,
after I got some trouble with a s900 diskdrive (some people surly know what I mean ;)but at last I found a drive and I will sell the s900) I decited to get me a s950. Now its here and I test it. But when I format a standard HD disk the display shows only 71% free. I tried this with another disk -> same.
Is it normal?

Im also interested in updating (if there is an update). My s950 os is 1.0 . Are there any updates and where can I dl them? I've searched but only find the update for the s900.

thank you

you have a maxed 950 so 1.44mb is 71percent of the memory.  your disk can only save 71 percent of what you can max out the sampler wiht.

Ok. Thank you. I thought the s950 save samples compressed so the whole RAM could be saved on one 1,44 disk.

Can you tell me something about the os?

What are the features of the version 1.2?
Maybe I wil try to put the data on floppydisk do you know if it work?
I think Omniflop will write the bin files on an Akai Floppy Disk or am I wrong?
