| How do I hook up the SP 1200 to run as slave to my Logic 8? |
|
|
Ok, so i know its got midi ports, what I need to know is how do i let SP 1200 know that it needs to follow start, stop, BPM sync? Ive been recording the SP output direct into Logic but its seems the SP not exact when it comes to BPM, in fact mine is slower so if you play a segment it will run out of time with what logic is playing. So i figured i need to know how to hook up the SP to run with logic together.
Ill let you know what I have setup:
M-audio 410 soundcard with Midi/in/out/
Novation Remote SL with Midi/in/out/thru, and it also has another Midi out port, (Midi outport 2)
Running logic 8.
Hope someone can help
BTW, check out my new Radiohead Remix of the track NUDE www.myspace.com/johanelg , its got a loop with the SP 1200 that at the start and the middle of the track, on the middle bit you can hear it running out of sync, this time it actually sound alright...but anyways
Peace

This should be in the New Jack Section.
MIDI OUT OF INTERFACE INTO MIDI IN SP
SET SP SYNC TO MIDI
In Logic, go to preferences>midi>midi sync song settings then select your interface from the drop down menu. This is song specific so you'll need to do this each time you start a new project. Logic should now trigger the SP (which will not start until it receives the first MIDI message from your interface.
Of course, you'll need to go to the AUDIO MIDI setup on your mac (utilities folder) and add your interface to the MIDI set up if you haven't already done so.
Its all in the manuals mate. Do a bit of reading.
