| MEMORY UPGRADES S950 |
|
|
If any reader has installed DMC-03 chips to their AKAI S950 I'm curious to the ease of installation (can someone with no skill in this area follow the manual and install themselves)? |

memory upgrades are real easy to instal you lift the bottom panel on the bottom and they fit in. one of the easiest things to do on the 950. _________________

I would def not pay anyone do install that shit cause it will take them 10 min and charge You for 1 hour worth of work. And it is as easy as D says it is. _________________

I just fully upgraded the memory on my new baby, I'm very happy ^_^
Got two expansion boards from Rouge Music off eBay.
I'm not a very technical person, and it couldn't have been easier.
I actually found it easier than installing RAM in a PC.
My only concern is I didn't have one of those little nuts to hold the memory board in place, and that it could become loose and fall out.
Apart from that, its all good! ^__^ |

I was going to order it from Ramona but the sites under construction:
http://www.ramona.com/Soundlogic/slogic.html
Only other spot I know of is in Germany:
http://www.masterbits.de/exp_e.htm
According to Syntaur: "The MPC60 and MPC60II and the S950 can only be expanded by installing a 750k RAM expansion board (Syntaur does not carry this item). " So maybe you can look for MPC60 750k RAM (I'M NOT POSITIVE, i'm sure Dface could help).
hit up Forat or try eBay.
Post if you find any other spots. Thanks! |
