I'm tempted to cop one of these joints.
http://www.noritake-elec.com/ledbacklight/
They make a 16x2 display like the regular Noritake replacement.
The red is shit hot. The blue is tight too.
Does anyone out there think they would work? _________________ Emu kit: SP1200, EIII rack, Emulator X2, PX-7, PM5's, PS12 sub |

i did one in my studio 440. they are sick. they draw way more juice than the lcd though be careful. im going to try one now in my sp12. i should have it in in like a week. ill let you know. they are fairly easy to put in, id say a mid level project. you may have to do some physical rigging though, since the mounting holes sometimes arent anywhere close to the originals. also the pin connectors may not have the same justification to the VFD PCB. you have to make jumper wires (14 of them to go from the main pcb pins to the vfd pcb pins. its a pain but easie and (if space is limited) might not fit if you use headers and pins. but yeah try it! the owrst you can do is have to put the old one back in. so dont destroy it getting it out. (buy a radio shack desoldering iron.) it makes life easier, along with a roll of desoldering brraid. iron first then braid to clean up. also watch the depth (from face plate to pcb ) that can cause issues as well. -shawn _________________ dig it. |

They work. Sometimes you run into noise issues but for the most part they are drop in replacements. |

THey look very nice.
Like Mike said, I expect these would work. I'm 99% sure the replacement screen on my grey model - as pictured in my signature - is a previous generation Noritake vaccuum display (mine was installed before I bought it from ebay). I've had no issues with mine.
Funny - it looks weird when I see other peoples green screens !
edit: my screen in clearer than the photo shown - it's just for some reason it doesn't come out so good on photo.
