Also, this machine is crazy. I think maybe it was a long time before it was on again so it's kind of cranky. I hadn't even touched it in like a week and yesterday I went to turn it on and it asked for the disk but no sound from the drive like normal. Tried a couple more times, nothing. Later in the day I tried again and it was fine, ended up playing with it for like 5-6 hours and shit was flawless, no metronome bleed or any type of wierdness. I'll keep yall posted if i start fucking around on the inside again but for now it seems to be allgood. |

hi,
that looks fucking killer.
so you printed the lettering on laser printer decal paper (like old school model kits? ) then u soak it in water and adhere correct? then if you so wish (or need) apply automotive clear coats for gloss and durability correct?
thanks!!!!!

I finally got myself an SP yesterday and I couldn't be happier. The face plate needs some work though. I don't know if you can tell but most of the gloss (Is that what you call it?) has been stripped away. It's also missing some lettering.
Just curious...has anyone done anything to their SP lately? I was thinking about getting some white colored buttons.
Rhythm, would you mind reposting those pics of yours? _________________

no problem, I'm going to redo mine sometime over the winter with a different color scheme just to change shit up and I'll take more pics of that too. Yours looks really good though despite losing it's gloss. You might just hit it with some clear coat to try to keep what you've got. Personally I like the OG look the best but mine was so nasty I had to go custom.

I wonder if the SP1200 LED's could be changed for a different color? Are they standard 3mm? I've never opened one up so I am just asking blind questions here.
I wonder how Forat does his graphics? I asked once, and he kinda gave me an elusive answer, and he said that they have all the equipment since they used to manufacture drum-machines back in the day.
I wonder if the sp1200 case could actually be re manufactured? I love the look of raw aluminum, or polished aluminum. Not in a chrome kinda look, but like the brushed matte silver look. I'm just spit-ballin here, but but bear with me.. _________________ Emu kit: SP1200, EIII rack, Emulator X2, PX-7, PM5's, PS12 sub |

If I have to I guess I'll use some clear coat but it would be such a contrast. I'm wondering if there is a way I can achieve the original gloss effect.
RHYTHM, did you happen to get your backlight from crystalfontz.com? If so, could you possibly point out which size screen I would need to get and the color that bests fits that of the original stock color.

Does it chip away when you use it? If your lettering is staying on then maybe just leave it. If you can successfully remove the plastic cover off then you could probably take it to a sign shop type place and have them laminate it then glue it back on. |

No, it's not chipping away. The lettering is staying on although the E-mu Systems, Inc. is missing and I would like to have that put on. I'll see if I can take it to a shop.

For now I'm still rockin the 12 Turbo. here's some pics:

A tip to you and ALL Sp users !
If your Sp is behaving strangely when it getīs warm open it up and check that all screws that hold the drumpad/slider board is in place and tightened.
My Sp got crazy with the LEDīs when i bought it, it was a missing screw !
