high all. i have an sp12 turbo that has a dimming display.. question is i have an extra VFD from noritake that i can use if the power supply on the sp can handle its draw. i had it for my prophet vs synth but i had it in and it litterally drew way too much and made the ps section overheat and reset the os after about 10 minutes? anyone know the amperage output of the sp12 or if anyones every put a VFD in one?
thanks.

hi , i just did my sp 12 with a display from crystalfontz.com (part number cfah1602btmitj) its a white on blue backlit lcd display using leds. its sickness. it took me maybe 3-4 hours for everything. (removal wiring and instal and trimmer mod) if anyones intersted i can go intop details and have some on a blog as well. ill help if you want to do it. i did it and it was sweet as shit. i imagine that the 1200 will work exactly the same way, but i dont have one to test.. so i m guessing that they arent very different on the face plate board very much at all. heres the link to the blog on it.
thanks .. oh the cost was 22.40USD i think for the lcd. no bad really. the noritake vfds are about 60-70 and the are cool as well... but can be trickier. thanks!- shawn _________________ dig it. |

thanks all. it really wasnt that hard to do. hardest part really was figuring out the voltage needed by the leds.. im a math retard really. i kep misunderstanding shit. i had to get 3.3. v or less ACCROSS kathode and annode of led points. i was measuring direct out of + incoming volatage and ground. duh.
actaully the hardest part is getting the wires prepd and tinned then doing the jumps from the ground and power pins.
on the crystalfontz site they have some sweet lcds as well.. theres a reeeeeeal sweet black and white negative one (side 8x2 pin configuration) that would look awesome in the black sp1200's.. im throwing on into my emaxII. checkm out.
if anyone needs help please feel free to ask.
