| filtering, voice overlap |

hello everyone,
I'm a proud new owner of a sp1200. after cleaning the pads and buttons (thanks faq) the machine works like new. since I'm not new to beatmaking, I mastered the basics of sampling and sequencing easy. I would like to ask two things which I didn't figured out yet
1. is there a way of cancelling two different samples which overlap each other (like on the mpc, you set poly to mono)
2. how do you gyus use the filters? let's say I want to take a loop and filter out the bassline (the nice oldschool way of low end therory ) is there a way of acheiving this? I tried to copy the sample and put one sample on output1 (filtered) and the other on output7 (unfiltered) and it did not work quite well. any tips on this? or do I have to play basslines with my microkorg (any problems with midi implementation? didn't tried it yet)
otherwise I like the SP a lot. it's really easy to use and sounds great and unique. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/djspanksmaragd |

1. assign the sounds to the same output
2. the filters dont really work like that you cant get a solid lowpass like the 950 the lowest two are kinda wierd and alot of users dont like em. since the filters are fixed they are not very flexible.
3. there is no midi implementation for synths (the sp just sends note on signal, no duration). so sample that microkorg _________________

1. damn that was easy, could figure that one out
2. ok
3. so i guess the midi is used mainly for sync purposes when tracking out
thanks a lot _________________ http://www.myspace.com/djspanksmaragd |

yeah the midi is straight for triggering samples also. or anything that works on one shot without the need for a duration signal
