Why s950 newbie questions.

I own a s3000xl and plan to use it with my sp-12 (if it works)
and my akai mpc60 (sold half my belongings to get these!!)

If I'd get a s950 for like dirt cheap.
Are these samplers expandable? with say a harddrive or something?
Is the sound really that interesting?

its 12 bit.
it has a dope filter.
it has time stretch.
it uses HD disk.
it can be expanded to 2.25 megs
it can be used with scsi devices if you get the scsi ib-109 card
it has 8 individual outs....
and.....they are usually mad cheap.

my only gripe is that replacement floppies are not an easy task to source unless you wanna pay like 130 from VST.

other then that, i learn mine.

the sounds are noticeably interesting... it has its own character much like the sp12 has its own, the 950 isn't as "in your face" as the sp, its character is more "vibing out/layed back", the Akai s950 and Emu sp1200 are by far the two greatest things I've ever purchased, I just need a mixer and I'm set... I would recommend the 950 over any other new age sampler.
