start/end in copies question

I'm about to buy a sp1200, but I have a question. When you copy a sample to other pads the same sample data is used, so no aditional memory is used. The manual says you cannot truncate the original sound when it is copied. My question is, can you set different start/end/loop points in the copies?

It's a good question but shouldn't be a deal breaker.
