SP1200 + Akai S950 Combo - please helpWurrup! I recently got hold of a S950 to work it with my SP1200, and Im gettin pretty handy with it so long. But! I have som questions that really fucks my head up. It took a while for me just to be able to play the samples from the SP's sequencer, til I found the "one shot" function in edit program mode. So now i can play the samples... But I cant play the tone program or any sample that I want to loop, why? I got a midikeyboard hooked to midi in, in the SP and midi out from SP to Akai midi in. And all I can play on the keyboard is the samples from the SP. The Akai isnt even gettin any signal from the keyboard.
So, can I play tone programs or loops and record them to the SP's sequencer? And can I use the keyboard to the Akai and get the signal to the SP also, so I can use the pitch bend and other funtions for example?
please help!
ps. Im sorry if the answer allready is in the FAQ, I didn't find it anyway

sp only sends note on thru midi no duration. you are thinkin mpc. tone program from the sp aint gonna happen.

Ok I see. If I would get a mpc, would I have any benefit by the s950? Or can the mpc allready do everything the s950 can?

If you wanna rock the tone program on the SP just sample it, if you're good it wont take more that .3-.5 seconds to get a usable bass. I do that on the turbo all the time.

i've doen the same thing. but if you have just a 950 n a sp theres no way to trigger a long tone.

Okay I see. I thinking about gettin a mpc and use its sequencer. I dont have any experience with the mpc, so I wonder if I have any use from the s950? Can for example the 2000xl loop samples? crossfade them and does it have tone programs? Is the mpc filter as good as the s950?
thanks for all your answers!
