sp/s950 vs mpc3000 vs mpc2000Hey first post, been checkin this forum for a minunte....
basically I'm real stuck between these three choices:
sp1200/s950- GRitty ass drums, classic equip, good resale, s950 has nice filters and shit, but I heard the sp sequencer isn't very advanced and plus this combo is hella expensive.
mpc3000- good warm sound (though still 16 bit), considered the best mpc a lot of the time, easy interface, tight sequencing, but still very expensive and not as lofi as I would like.
mpc2000- cheapest choice, good overall mpc, I'm already familiar with the interface, has a thin sound, but could get an emax or s950 with the extra cash saved.
anybody have any suggestions, experience, or opinions?

my suggestion is to not buy gear based on resale value for one...for two, start with an MPC, maybe the MPC 60 with 3.10 software would make you happy...or fruity loops, it does a good job of cutting or slicing the beat up for me

actually this is prob. what I'm going with cuz I already have the 2000 (thas what I've been using for a couple years now), and I know of a good deal for a sp12 turbo.

What is your budget tho give us a range or a figure?
Maybe you should first decide what you want. Then save up for it .

I got around $1500. SO enough to buy any of the options I just wanna pick the best. The 3000 looks like a good overall piece...eh?

if you can get a emu emulator III keyboard i would pick that up, as long as its in a decent condition. Personally i wouldn't buy a mpc 3k because it has no usb. Yes it does have a great sound, but I wouldn't say it sounds better then the eiii or sp.
I like the mpc 60's sound a lot more then the 3k's. Get the mpc 25k, i sold my sp 1200 for it.
