Sampling into mono in SP-12?I have a Yamaha MG10/2 mixer. There are no mono outputs on the mixer, and thus, I dunno how to connect that into the mono input of the SP-12. Anyone got any suggestions to what I have now, or should I just get a 1642-VLZ mixer, which has a mono output? Thanks.

You could just PAN your channel/s to one side eg. LEFT, and just connect the left output to the SP.
If your source is stereo, route the two sides through seperate mono channels and pan them both left to make sure you capture the whole picture.

So either way, I would only be hearing the SP-12 on one monitor?

When you play back the SP MIX OUT through a mono channel with the PAN control central, it will play through both monitors.

So let me see if I got this. I hook up the left output of the mixer into the input of the SP. I hook up the output of the SP into a channel of the mixer, and pan all the way left, and I will hear the sample only in the left monitor. I sample like that. After I'm done sampling, I pan the channel to the center to hear the sample on both monitors?
Sorry, I'm new to sampling mono.

Can I clear this up with a crap diagram
If you monitor the mixer while sampling this way, you will only hear one speaker . But when you play back you will hear both.
Hope i'm starting to expain it properly.

Wow, thanks for the picture. Very nice. Also, I won't have my stereo sources in two seperate mono channels per se, but one stereo channel. So only one pot for panning for the stereo source. To clear one thing up, while sampling, I will only hear the sample out of one monitor, but when playing the sample back from the SP-12, I will hear it on both monitors, correct?

Yeah I think you got it.
It is possible to monitor the sound coming out of the SP while it's sampling but for some reason the quality is usually crap and doesn't reflect the quality of the sound when you play it back.
To avoid feedback in the mixer it's prob. best to disconnect the SPs mix out from the mixer in, while sampling.
Hope it works for you.
Ps. If you plug a stereo source into a stereo channel on the mixer and PAN hard to one side you will probably get a good sound but it may not be a true reflection of the whole stereo picture. But it's your choice
