recording from the SPCan you record segments directly from the SP onto a recorder? I have a Tascam DP-01FX/CD. I have been unable to record using the 1/4" MIX OUT jacks on the back of the DP. I ask b/c I don't have a computer in this current setup. So what's the science?

If I understand correctly you connected your SP's MIX OUT with the in of your recorder ?
You have to run the signal through a mixer first and then connect the mixer's out to your recorder.
