Read/Verify Error? Any one know what this is???Trying to load a beat i made but I keep getting this Read/Verify error message. It doesn't load any of my sounds. Any one know what this is?

.i recall getting this out of the blue a while back...i think it is a sign the floppy drive is failing though is could also be a defective floppy disk...if it does this on all yr disks then you need a new drive.

Save your beats on multiple floppies. It's the floppy. Happens from time to time. Thats' why I always save the beat on three floppies, sometimes even four.

Yeah its's the floppy. Fuck! shit was a hot one to. Is there any way to retrieve the info? Thanks for the tip though...much appreciated.

You might be able to load the OS from a good disk and then load sounds and sequences off your dud.

Instead of trying to load all sounds at once, use the operation to load one sound at a time. This usually lets me salvage most of the samples I used when a disk goes bad.

it takes a hot minute but it doesn't take as long as remaking the whole beat. when i load a bunch of disks in one sitting i get the read verify error frequently. sometimes when i try to load sounds and sequences the drive makes a wounded noise and the screen reads disk not formatted. sigh, i gotta go see forat.
