problem sampling into my sp12What's up?
I just got an sp 12 from ebay. I am having trouble getting a good sample. The signal is really quiet, but when I turn the gain up, it gets distorted. Is this normal? It doesn't seem like it could be. Did I get a broken one? I've had several samplers over the years and never had this problem. Any help is much appreciated.

Do you mean it's distorted while you are sampling?
Or is it still distorted when you play it back?
If it's just the former, it's just one of the quirks of the machine which should not affect the playback.

I just assumed if I was hearing distortion while on the sample screen, then my sample would be distorted as well. This is not the case. The sample sounds fine except for a pop at the end. I just used decay to eliminate it.

You should just truncate it instead.
