inject/eject floppy button stuck

The button on my SP, you know the one you press to insert/eject a floppy disk? It is stuck in place!

How do I (or a tech) address the issue?

I just picked up a 1200 with a drive like that last week... I used silicone spray but it wouldn't move, I guess it was just to old. I replaced it with a Teca 235HF floppy with the jumpers.

LOL!

Alright.  Superglue your finger to it and pull it out.

No seriously, you can use the glue trick.  I've done this before with the rubber end of a pencil (that's the eraser for you yanks Smile).  You can then use rubbing alcohol to remove the glue from the button.

..

open up the sp, take out the disc drive, open up the top of the disc drive and manually slide the tray to eject the disc. fing out whats holding the button up. fix the button or get a new drive because itll prob happen again.

actually the teac did not work, tried another no go. Configured them as for the 60 they boot fine load sounds/samples fine but didn't write to the disks. I ended up using an old mitsubishi drive that worked fine so I'm good now but maybe somebody has some info on getting the setting right on the teacs anyway since their widely available.

You need to set the drive id to drive 0 for sure.

I have a sheet for that somewhere but it may be for the sony brand drives.
I'm in the middle of moving and it could be anywhere.

Is there a definitive solution to this problem?

I don't want to seem redundant, it just hasn't been very clear thus far.

I think the drive I had was just bad. I don't see any other reason why it shouldn't have worked. My advice would be just go down to a computer recycle place and try to find some old drives with jumpers don't pay more than a dollar each eventually you'll find one.

does anyone have a jumper setting for a teac 235HF for the SP1200? thanks!
