Help with my setup please

I don't have a mixer and i'm just using the main output on the s950 to play samples triggered from an sp1200. My question is this: I've heard before that the 950 cannot handle lots of sounds through one output? Like once I have 10 samples triggering at various times all running through the main output I wil get a "clipping" sound? like it doesn't like everything being forced out one output? Anyone know of this? Do I just need to use the 8 outs to a mixer to solve this problem? Having troubles making beats being limited this way... Any response from a member is very much appreciated!... thanks

Yeah..had exactly that problem when I first used my s950.
It seemed to me that the MIX OUT could handle only 3 samples simultaneously :
Back then I did a basic loop with a kick, snare, hihat + a sample which was triggered once loud and once quiet due to the limitation.

You're welcome !

Damn...can't believe you have a SP and are not using a mixer. That's like having a Porsche with the engine blocked @ 60 mph !

You should buy a mixer and run your outputs from the SP & the S950 through it, that way with the S950 you could use several outputs and have more than just 3 sounds triggered simultaneously.

oh man no doubt I feel everything you're saying but $$$ is my issue when it comes to a mixing board

you can get a decent mixer for liek 100$ or just get a decent audio interface for your computer.

do you have a mixer proposal for a s950, sp1200, mic+preamp, turntables and a mackie hdr24/96 track recorder? i know the mackie trackrecorder is heavy duty i dont need all of the 24 tracks but i got it cheap.
i need something analog though.
thx for your help

I got a Rane SM82 rackmount mixer for like $170...have it directly under the SP and it works great...no EQ but this is for premixing use anyway (for me) as space is super limited..had to pass on a soundtracs topaz that was mad cheap a few weeks ago

that one  looks good for pre mix. i have a bit more space though. i need something with 16-24 channels and EQ. dont need stereo
is that one analog? im not sure
