id say definatly go for the SP1200

I've used the MPC 1000 a few times, and it's one of the worse I've used, I'm most definatly not a fan. Thats my viewpoint on it tho. It also really depends on what vibe your goin for. But I'd say SP all day

well im looking for that grimey mid 90's sound that i know the sp has hands down...my only concern is the repair of the sp...i heard it is quite hard to be fix due to parts being outdated and all...the sp im going to buy is in pretty good condtion.....does anyone know the average life span of an sp or does it vary?
the only reason i compared it to the 1000 is b/ci would be paying about the same for both

thanx for the advice guys

sps can break or get glitchy easy. or if you treat em right they can be around for a while.

get the 1000, use the bit grunger and your drums will hit like the SP. I sell MPC's and besides the pad issues the MPC 1000 is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the SP. The SP is tight and has a WONDERFUL sound but Homosapiens were producing w/Fred Flintstone on it.

GET THE 1000--you won't be dissapointed.

i'll keep it plain and simple....after using the sp, my mpc has sampled nothing but dust!!

The 1000 has the shittest sounding sampler ive heard outta all the MPC's. It sounds like a toy. Its a piece of crap compared to the SP imo. Yea its easier to work with, but it sounds like shit.

SP1200!

i learned on the sp12 turbo and now have the sp1200. from what it sounds like you should def get the sp1200 for the sound you are looking for. as mentioned above, take great care of it and you should have nothing to worry about. add an s950 to it and you wil love it.
