The DX7 is THE eponymous 80's synth heard on countless songs from that era. Think FM synthesis meets General Midi. I use it mainly for the piano sounds which are good but more importantly, stay in pitch. It provides me with a good reference for samples and analogue gear. I've got a TX7 which is the desktop version. Great 80s sounds, good for the rhodes and vcf piano. If you can get one for around $40.00, then its worth it. The TX7 is built like a tank. cheers. d |
