I know what the facts say, but I have had more dsdd disks fail me then hd/taped disks. I swore off dsdd for now.
to be honest I think it may have to do with the fact that the dsdd I was using were new, but mad OLD stock. so althought "new" the magnetic material may not be in the best shape. all my hd are newly manufactured. I just make sure I make duplicate disks.

see I had just the opposite happen to me. I think it probably mostly depends on the quality of manufacturing on any particular disks you get. I got some cheap magnavox hd disks I was using with a 60 almost no beats left out of a box of 50. On the flipside tho I got some hds of a different brand that still work perfectly with the tape.

If you get the Forat floppy you can read both HD and DD...I got one and it works good but its slower on the loadup phase but still works well with both disk.
Same joint works well on the 60 also.
Give me a day or two and I'll put up the serial and some pics.
