sorry to blogwhore, but I did one of these, too.  

took about a week of evenings and a weekend or two, some fair bit of work...but much more convenient footprint.  

if you can find a cheap 106 or HS60, and you have dremel, hacksaw, soldering iron, and some patience, it's worth it.
