Unless i'm confused, I'm pretty sure that you don't need a new key group for each midi note. By just using keygroup 1 and the sp pad and corresponding s950 midi notes you should be able to play the SP efficiently. At least that's what I thought....

It seems your confused Wink

You can assign only one sample to either a range : example C3-D3
or a single note : C3 (Lo & Hi note set to the same)

So with multiple samples you have to use multiple keygroups. It's all that simple !

right, but I think Drums is just saying you don't have to..you could have 1 keygroup on a bunch of pads for a bass or so...then another on a different set

this is pretty cool to have

Whutup guys..

one question.. with the sp/950 combo,do you then get total 16 voises from both machines or does the sp cansel the 8 from the 950?

sp doesnt cancel it out you offset the midi channel or sacrifice one out by moving things over to that out in the 950. if you need the extra channel you get your offset poppin.
