Awe Detail,

Don't be so dismissive too quick!  Gots to give it a chance!  I like the fact that its got mic preamps, can record audio tracks, and has a Phono preamp for turntables.

Now if only it could make a nice espresso...  Smile

ha! that's what I'm saying, I don't want an Mpc to do all that shit and I don't know why other people do?  the phono preamp is dope, because I'm currently in need of it but all that other shit?

jack of all trades, master of none

agreed!  seem's like every MPC after the 3000 is just filled with a bunch of stuff you don't need.  For example, the 2KXL has all the zone edit shit, which is sweet, but the sampler sounds like ass (in my opinion).  The 3000 and 60 are straight forward with ill samplers, dope sequencers, and the new os on the 3K makes me want it more then any of these new MP's

It's nothing amazing really, especially for $2.5K. It's got a built in synth but why not make it a real sampler and have built in patches as well? Fuck Akai anyway for all the flawed and bullshit products they've been selling. Plus for all that money it's still not an all in one solution? Sure you can make heat on anything but I'm not gonna be the guy droppin 25 hun on that machine to do it. Another option? The MV8K - it shits all over this thing and it can be picked up for $8-900. Akai's best MPCs are well behind them and I doubt they ever make anything worth buying again.
