How do I record into My SP1200 w/My MacBook Pro?  Reply with quote

I would like to know what is the best way to record drum sounds into the SP1200 using my MacBook Pro.  What kind of cable and software is recommended for this type of transferring.  Thanks.

you basically need an 1/8 inch to 1/4 ich cable.. connect the 1/8 to headphone out on the laptop..1/4 to sample in and you set. you dont need software. just need to have in sound preferences set to "built in out" and play you drum hit in quick time...or whatever. you set your levels for the sampling on the SP and you got your drums..

Personally I sample all my sounds from a TT.. can't stand computers

The on board soundcard is wack your gonna need to buy a decent sound interface e.g M-Audio Firewire (it's not the best) but u can plug all your outs from your SP into you soundcard & record everytrhing into your sequencer at once

i know the built in soundcard is wack. he's not trackin into the mac..just gettin some drums into it. I get all my sounds from wax, and It's prolly the best..at least for me.

p.s. I got Motu Ultralite.. it's a good interface Smile 8 ins..8 outs..etc.
