| Akai S950 - artifacts when sampling - memory issue? |

I have an S950 with maxed 2.25mb memory.
I recently noticed an artifact (i.e. a pop/click) in a sample - the artifact occurred at exactly the same point no matter what I sampled, which leads me to conclude that the artifact was occurring at the point when the S950 was switching between the memory modules. This even happens when I am copying/chopping sample and I reach the point where I max out one module and switch to the next module.
Anyone else noticed this problem or could it be that I have a duff memory chip?
